Romance in the workplace?

My last job there was a really cute girl I got along well with, but I kept it professional and never asked her out and she moved away and now I’m at a new place, theres a new girl who I get along with even better, she really makes me happy.

question is:

what does one do?

definetly dont want to just tell her i like her upfront but also dont want to wait until the last day of work and as well im not sure how it would affect our professional relationship ie shes another sdr on the team

DO IT!! Met a guy 6 years ago at my 1st sales job & we became instant best friends. Fast forward to now, we’re engaged & have a 4yr old. We’ve worked 3 jobs together & currently still work on the same sales team. 🙂 no joke, we spent 99% of the last 7 years seeing each other everyday and working together.

People think we’re crazy to work together. Sometimes management is hesitant to hire us as a couple. But we work together so well & honest to god, he makes me feel more confident, we bounce ideas & shit off of each other & we motivate each other.

That’s how me & him were too. We’ve basically been inseparable for 7 almost 8 years. 😊

It would personally be my nightmare but I see it a lot and almost every company has had a little love story, so go for it. With that said, I've always been told: Don't sh-- where you eat

Very meaningful expression. Think twice, then go for it if you can handle the possible fall out.

I say do it. What if you end up marrying her?

You also have to have it in your head that it could go south quickly and her being on the same team as you could make things very awkward

Go for it, as long as you respect the work place when you are in the workplace and the relationship isn't a conflict of interest (IE - you work for her, vice versa, etc.) then give it a go!

ehh I have to disagree with the popular opinion here... if things don't pan out, it can create a really uncomfortable work environment. a few things to think about - do you rely on this person for anything or will you need to work closely 1:1 with them in the future? typically the answer is yes or else you wouldn't be close already. also, will you be returning to the office and working in close quarters?

one, she lives across the country, two it will be fully remote forever, I'll literally never see her unless I want too

So you're considering trying to date a colleague who you've never met in person?

I feel like it can be a dicey situation so I try to avoid it but I don’t inherently have anything against it as long as there’s no drama.

Go for it. I met my fiancé at work. Just be able to put on a professional face at work and be okay if it falls apart

there's about 3.6 billion or so women in the world...why try to bang the girl in the cubicle next to you?
when it goes south, it becomes awkward...not only for you and her, but everyone else at your company who bet $50 each that it wouldn't last more than 4 weeks
but, if that's what you're feeling, go for it
