Salary expectations for entry-level SDR/SDR

Hey guys I've been doing some research on RepVue to try and get an idea of salary + OTE expectations for tech sales, but I'm seeing many different numbers which is confusing. What should a first-year SDR expect to make in total comp at an org like Salesforce, Oracle, Dell, IBM, etc? Also, how quick can one reasonably expect to be promoted to AE and what do those salary packages look like?

Thanks a million!

I think from what I have seen, usually base falls around 60-80 and there is potential to get OTE around 100 for the best paying sdr gigs. Usually 1-2 years in those roles before AE promotions

RepVue seems like it would be your friend here.

Edited: just realized you’ve been one there. Try Glassdoor, maybe LI postings.

Can't speak to the salary at the tech giants but I've had friends transition from SDR to AE within 18 months at Salesforce

18 months is about right for a good SDR/BDR meeting targets and being "coachable".

Sorry I can't help with the salary, I never asked my BDR colleagues.

Have you tried Glassdoor.com?

You should check repvue filters or glass door. It varies by geography, experience and org.

Also, I'd try and diversify your expectations away from the huge tech companies. Nothing wrong with them, but there's definitely smaller to mid sized companies that pay just as much if not more.

You made your job easy by creating a list of the potential companies you are looking to get into. I would filter the data and also look at Glassdoor, search on linkedin if they ever posted opportunities and included salary range there.

Hey! Unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way, but After some research I found that SDRs in tech average 55k base salary in NYC. (Scale being 33-80k) and of course commission bumps you up from there. My advice: don’t take a job that pays less than 55k base if you’re living in a minor city!

Should companies even be offering less than 60k for AE positions that aren't entry level?
