My job is all on the phone/Zoom. No in person meetings required, and our President actually discourages it if we happen to be talking to a prospect in our city (we're nationwide.)ย

Some might disagree with me, but at least for SMB sales I think face to face meetings are becoming a thing of the past, favoured by those who will be retiring soon. It is so much more efficient for everyone to hop on a phone or Zoom call.ย

I see in person meetings being valuable for enterprise deals, as well as sales where the rep is responsible for fostering an ongoing relationship (account management duties, responsible for getting the prospect to renew etc.)

I think ability to close depends more on what you're selling and your sales skills than it does on how the meeting is conducted.ย

I think in person sales reduces the amount of ghosting and overall disrespect, because prospects see you as a real person and not just a voice on the phone. However, in my limited experience doing face to face I wasted MUCH more time with tire kickers and uninterested prospects than I do with phone sales.

Still 100% remote, but starting to ask customers if they are able/willing to meet in person now. Should have my first in person meeting in the next few weeks.ย

Our regions go by geography, so only driving range. Deal size varies, sales cycle is 6-12 months on average
