Sales: Remote vs Workplace - What do you prefer?

2020-21 has been a (insert overused and stressful pandemic-related phrase here). I've sold in the office trenches for 7 years, and just wrapped up my 8th totally remote. After all is said and done, I prefer being at home, but that's mostly because I don't have a 2 hour commute anymore and my team is relatively small.

Curious how sales managers, directors, and larger sales teams that vibe of the energy of sales-trench warfare are feeling after forced-remote work. I probably would have hated remote work 4-5 years ago. Are you going back? If you had a choice, what would you do?

For me personally, if I was early in my sales career I would absolutely want to be in the office.  Now that I am more tenured and do more mentoring than learning from my peers, I'm fine doing things over zoom.

I would prefer a mix of in-office and remote. For example 3 days remote and 2 days in-office. I do miss having that personal interaction with colleagues.. but realized I am def more productive at home than in the office. Another thing I noticed is that I work way longer hours while working from home.. those boundaries are hard to set.. how bout you guys?

Yeah - don't really take lunch breaks..or coffee breaks..or stare at the wall and hate my response rate breaks anymore. If I had my way it'd be like a 3-4 WFH/1 WFO split

Tough call. There are pros and cons with both. Once things get back to normal, I'd like to split the week evenly between working in office and remote.

Remote. My office is where I land.

Mix, for sure. My productivity has skyrocketed at home, but as an extrovert, I miss the socialization and camaraderie from the office. I think learning from peers is harder as well. I used to love listening to my peers on their calls and picking up verbiage and customer stories they were using.
