Sales Tips on LinkedIn

Why do 85% of sales reps post daily selling tips on Linkedin and not post content geared to their insustry audience?

I know it gets lots of likes from the sales community, but it does not generate sales.

Because 85% of sales reps suck and spend more time in the LI circle jerk than they do trying to find new clients.

Pretty much any time I talk about politics, social media, or business nowadays (too many companies who wouldn't exist if salesforce wasn't a thing because all they do is help make using salesforce easier lol) I end up doing a jerking off motion because for the most part it seems like everything is a big circle jerk. If you know the people at the top and aren't afraid to shill out some nice strokes you will end up pretty well off. Really got to stop doing the jerking off motion every time I describe this on my office walks though in case anyone is looking out the window of my office 😂🤣🤣🤣

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
They're out there building a brand instead of building a quota.

There’s a pot of gold at the end of the influencer rainbow. Call me if you ever find it.

They do it to be seen. To build a brand to become an influencer and a consultant.

If you're planning on selling into the same industry for a long time, definitely a good call to post content geared toward the people you're selling to.

My problem has been that I keep switching industries. So for a while, my audience was CPGs, then manufacturing, then SaaS companies. So my content kept changing depending on where I worked and who I was selling into.

I had a similar problem and found it was better to become a master of one industry rather than constantly switching. It truly takes 2 full years to gain knowledge of the industry. The grass isnt always greener.

Absolutely, LI is flooded with all these repeated contents that will not influence a prospect to even show buying intent. Waste of time.

They're really trying to be sales influencers instead of real sales people.  Most of my prospects aren't on LI, they're on the other side of the phone.

E.G.O. Most of them aren't trying to drive revenue for their company, they are trying to build their "personal brand".

If you want to draw business in from LI, make sure you're posting things that are relevant to your prospects. It doesn't even need to be about your product, but for god's sake BE RELEVANT!
