Salesforce Insider Baseball?

Any Savages currently or in the past work at Salesforce? Would love to hear the good, bad and the ugly (I'm not looking for the fluff on LI or Glassdoor).

Thanks in advance!

I worked at SFDC and spent years on all sides of the ecosystem for the last 10 years.  Depends on what role you're applying for.

Company itself is awesome, great benefits and a solid culture (hard to get fired there unless you are truly terrible at your job).  Lot of upward opportunity as well.

That said, the further up the sales ladder you get the smaller your territory becomes.  That can limit your commission if you get an account that just bought a ton of licenses the previous year.  The other thing is that they switch up your accounts almost yearly, so if you spend the time developing a relationship and they buy 2 months after the new FY, you would likely lose all the commish to the following rep.

Overall, I'd say, definitely apply, ask the right questions about your role and territory.  Do a deep dive into the leader of the team and their background.  If everything makes sense to you, it's a great company and looks great on your resume!

Hope that's helpful!  Reply back with any specific questions!

Extremely helpful, and consistent with other feedback I've heard from some people in my network who work/have worked there. Do you have any experience with "co prime" roles? (meaning non core product)

Yup...  I was the Core AE, so I worked with all of the Co-Primes.  Again, it depends on which Cloud you're selling.  The upside is that you support an entire team or 2 of people, so your potential is far greater to sell more (higher quota as well).  The downside is that sometimes you could work your ass off for a deal, and then the Core AE has the authority to discount or even swap out your product for something else (Doesn't happen too too often, but it does happen).  In that case you're SOL.  Again...  dig into the cloud that you'd be selling.

Lots of turnover due to small territories and not enough business to go around. Feast or famine. Top sales peeps make great money and most others are swimming in circles to stay afloat. The company does give spiffs to help people make money and based on your role you can make your OTE without actually hitting your annual quota. Be prepared to be managed weekly to a monthly number even though you may be on a quarterly or annual quota. The speed of the business never stops and can get overwhelming at times if the pipeline just isn’t there. Lots of micromanagement on pipeline and deals. Overall a good sales company.

Interesting answer - you said a ton of micromanagement but overall good? What are the pros? Other than hitting your OTE without being at quota

I've seen a lot of open positions in my area for SFDC for the last couple of months. I'm not sure if it's turnover or if they are not filling the roles.

I m got an offer and declined because they had me relocate to a different country. They did not specify that upfront. Man really wanted to work there.

It’s really an MBA in SaaS sales. A lot of smart colleagues from top universities from all over the world. Good perks and an unlimited budget ( it seems) to treat clients.
