sandwhich-gate

Our exec team ordered lunch for a meeting they had in office and didn't ask any of the other 5 people in the office if we wanted anything. We just watched longingly as they devoured mouthfuls of delicious turkey sandwiches and crisp soda. My boss later asked if i needed anything, and i said well i guess ya can't turn these carrots into a delicious sandwich so that's a no for me, please close my door though.

Definitely a bit dramatic, but a little care goes a long way. So much for exciting new start up that "takes care of their people".

What do y'all think?

Execs having lunch at a meeting without involving other staff is normal...

Yeah, this is pretty normal, in my experience. I understand topical jealousy like, "Damn I wish I could have one of those," but not getting upset about it.

See id get it if we were a massive company but there were only 5 other of us in the office. Just feels like common courtesy to me especially if you're gonna call your employees family

I think you're a bit too upset about a $5 sandwich. I hear Jimmy Johns does freaky fast delivery.

I'd be upset too. It's a little thing, but little things go a long way when it comes to company culture like that

This is why i was upset for sure. Dont call me your family and then not even ask me if i want lunch on the one day in an entire calendar year that yall came into the office

I don't think this is the thing to get upset about. Pick your battles wisely

Taking care of your people is key in any company, but like you said that was a dramatic response from what I can read
