When doing that people are like no, I will be out of the office...even though it is only 1 day out they try and use that as an excuse..so trying to figure another way around it!

You could try sending a calendar meeting invite for after the holiday and see if they accept it.

truth is that you can easily reschedule stuff. not many folks will care. and if they move the meeting and they cancel they would prob buy anyway. 

you will get more meetings and more sales in life but holidays with your close ones (especially on the older side) are limited.
