SDR(s) - 6 without tools to Get #s

Alright, part of a team in SaaS I consider experienced capable of hitting quota. Manager is not receptive to my pleas in the 1on1 that I need just a tool dedicated to finding phone numbers and emails for potential companies and prospects.

essentially no contact generated just imported mass upload contacts from the top targets and that's what has been done.

Tasked with new business, it's just frustrating to continue to say the same thing and just get frustrated.

Last month I crushed quota and quality by 8 demos. (set 24) completed 24. out of those demos, 4 were in our system.

Navigating manager tell me excuses and not giving a chef(SDR) the ingredients to cooks(prospecting) sucks.. how should I go about conveying this to more important company members.

I'd purposely get trails of tools that supply numbers etc - cross reference it with current numbers to see if it is legit. THEN, go above and beyond to find numbers and emails etc within your ICP...document it in a simple excel sheet so they can understand and then show them what they are missing out on. ALSO, get the trials and book as many meetings as possible. They can't say no to that.

They're fucking RELENTLESS.

And likely to hit him with some stats that could be compelling.

I think merely talking about it won’t solve your purpose.
Create a business case, give them a direction, give them stats, give them assurance of your capabilities.

Schedule a call with your Manager. If even this doesn’t work then they’re probably not getting approvals from above. And they’re not, then there is barely anything you’d be able to do. Just keep pushing.

You can even go ahead and evaluate different tools and give them a cost estimate.

What I’m seeing here in all these answers is that providing a solution to the problem you’re having is going to be important. And backing it up with proof for how the solution will benefit the company is critical. It’s a bigger lesson in learning how to get what you want or need.

Good luck!

Recap the numbers you shared in the original post. Show how much time it took you to find them, input them. Then you can relate that to selling time in dollars.

“If you used x amount of time selling, it would equal x in dollars, compared to what you’ve already done.” You can also use this same example potentially with the other team members.

Then you can compare this to what a potential tool would cost. Or just build the use case first and see their thoughts. That’s what I’d do.

24 demos? Completely outbound? That's sweet, man, congrats. So, your quota is 16? Do you target SMB, mid market, or enterprise?

Still trying to earn the confidence of these people. Doesn’t help I’m not performing well the following month. I think I avged 11 calls a day last month?!

I continue to be pressed about elevation of my daily metric as well. Which I’m cool if not eager to make more calls. But I’m not here to call someone who isn’t the guy.

I target Smb mid and enterprise companies. I may have had 2 inbound. Which was lit. Trying to reproduce and find sustainable habits but with out tools it’s tricky

Any tools that help AE's ask and get referrals to generate pipe? Now what I've been doing is 'Ask'. Is there any tech that automates the process? Or any of y'all have a framework that works?

I’ve had the opportunity to help build a sales team. From creating the call pitch to managing the reps and the sales funnels. Has anyone done this as a consultant or on a temp basis while also being a full time AE? How did it go? Where do you find most gigs?
