Having done both, I enjoy selling. Managing a team is difficult because it's a lot more difficult to motivate somebody else than it is to motivate yourself

Interesting. Motivation is key to selling. The general assumption is that you need to be good with people to do well in sales. If you are good with people, is it tough to motivate them? Or is there something I'm missing?

It's entirely situational, but even if you're good with people it can still be a challenge

Selling for now because money, but I wouldn't mind trying my hand at managing in the future.

Both. Being able to help teach others how to sell what I'm selling only makes me better at selling and managing.

Having done both, I now get a bigger buzz from managing a team and coaching other people to be winners.

I think, for me, it was a natural maturation in my career and I was always given extra responsibility in my selling roles.

it’s a very different game and sometimes it can be difficult to watch people not have the ability to do something that I could do so easily, but that’s the aim of the game

Interesting. I enjoy it when i succeed. But I enjoy it more when a team member succeeds.

At this point in my career, selling. My day to day is very much in my control that way and I don't have to worry about people not doing their jobs.

But, haven't you felt the desire to be a part of something bigger? I was at that crossroads.
