Sequence Conversion Rates

Out of curiosity, what do you consider acceptable for a Sequence conversion rate to Qualified Opportunities? So if you have 100 prospects in your Sequence or Cadence should that number be 10 qualified Ops, 15, 20, 25? I have a number in my head, but would love to get everyone's feedback.

I just voted because I have no f*cking idea what you're asking. Can you explain "sequence conversion rate" to me?

Sorry about that @youKNOW . Sometimes the words I am thinking do not come out as intended. What I mean is the conversion rate of Qualified Opportunities. So if you have 100 prospects in your sequence, how many of those should turn into Qualified Opportunities.

No worries. So...correct me if I'm wrong...you're asking how many prospects/ leads/ whatever you want to call them are ending up as actual opportunities?

I wish I could answer this accurately. Conversion stats, IMO, have to be one of the most highly manipulated #'s I've ever seen in sales, NO MATTER WHAT YOU SELL. Ultimately the answer for what "conversion" is always seems to be "not good enough."

That is correct. I want to shoot for a 12-15% conversion rate, but I agree with you that it will never be good enough. I just want to have a benchmark for the new ADR's that we will be hiring soon.

He's asking which ones that you are putting through sequences (outreach, salesloft, etc) are converting to opps.

That number can vary widely depending on the sequence, industry, persona, etc. Are you targeting high level decision makers? If you are converting 5 to 10 percent of your above the line leads (high level decision makers) you're doing a great job. If anyone tells you their number is higher, I would argue that they are most likely cherry picking data.

I mean... this really depends on your market and ICP. If you're talking SMB sales, then yeah maybe 10% is good, but if you're talking about large enterprise where you have 1 shot at it, then clearly 10% conversion of your prospecting effort is not going to cut it.

That makes total sense. The reason I have been asking so much about this kind of thing over the last couple of months, is that we don't have enough data for the ADR team I will be leading. So I am trying to use any tool I can to set up a good benchmark for the team. And the War Room has been amazing so far.

I would respectfully disagree on your point and question the options to the answers of this poll. I could count on one hand a sequence that resulted in a double digit LEGITIMATE conversion rate.

That’s definitely fair. I guess it’s more under the assumption of *in a perfect cadence* lol

Well if I'm paying let's say Outreach, SFDC, Xant or Salesloft to have automated sequences, I would expect at least 20% to be honest. I can do 10% on my own.
