We continue this saga as leadership keeps climbing its way to being the biggest POS team in SaaS.
This time, a fellow SDR got COVID and was out for about a week. The day he got back or one day after he got fired.
Soldiers' morale weakens daily due to penurious conditions and tyrannic generals...
One warrior fell ill with a dreadful infection (COVID), he asked the generals for permission to stay in camp while the rest of us headed to battle. Permission was granted.
He rested in his tent; we patiently awaited the return of our fellow serviceman.
A few days after, he rushes back into the battlefield before achieving full recovery, eager to show the generals his loyalty and his willingness to fight... fatal mistake.
While in combat, he is summoned by the highest Emperor of the court...
He is forced to get on his knees as the Commander draws out his axe and with a single swing separates his body from his head. No hesitation, no repentance. The Emperor's orders have been carried out.
As we stare at the lifeless head of our fallen comrade we are asked to get back to the battle and not come back unless with gold and silver.
The message is clear, whoever fails to fulfill the emperor's unreasonable demands, will fall...
At night, I gaze at the sky as I remember my fallen comrades, and think about how they didn't even get the courtesy of a decent farewell...
I fear I might be next...
...I've managed to dig a tunnel that connects my den to a neighboring town, but I must be granted safe passage first. I will meet with one of their rulers tomorrow to negotiate my inclusion in their army.
I have dug alternative escape routes in case I don't reach an agreement, my battle skills have served me well but I know time is the enemy.
I must manage to escape quickly... before the Emperor puts me on his list too...

Jokes aside, could my ex-colleague potentially file a lawsuit or something? We are in California so I know it is at-will employment but he was literally fired for getting sick. Fucking BS.
I'm not sure of his specific performance but it is clear that him getting sick was the excuse they found to get rid of him.
Can't wait to GTFO. We can't even get sick in peace lol.
