Hey Savages,
Yesterday or two days ago I posted about the fucking mess my new company is. Well, one day later and things are looking even worse.
When I joined the company 4 weeks ago we were around 30 SDRs. The plan was to hire 20 more this month and I just found out that they wanted to scale to 100.
Yesterday, they wiped out the team and there are only 14 of us left. I was the only one of my hiring batch that wasn't fired.
We had a call with the US CEO today and he said "I'm sorry, it sucks to do this and I'm supporting laid-off folks to get new jobs/interviews. However, investors asked to cut costs and wanted to reduce the team to 10. I fought to keep the 14 in this call."
He then said that investors still want to bring the team down to 10 but that his plan is to show them that we are getting great results and that it makes sense to keep the 14 of us.
He finalizes by telling us not to be afraid or stressed out regarding job security HAHAHA ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!?
Needless to say, my job pipeline is looking good but still early in the process. I'm afraid they'll get rid of me before I can find a good offer.
No excuses but my performance went from #1 last week to #11 this week. From 7 conversions to 1 this week so far.
I get obsessed over goals, which is why I've performed well in previous roles and sports but I feel like when I stop giving a fuck I find it hard to focus.
As mentioned, wanted to share this for others to have an inside look at what a super early-stage startup might look like.
I'll work hard to find and succeed in a new role and make the sales savages family proud, I promise.
STAY SAVAGE BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
Edit: Forgot to add, the meme is what I fucking looked like during our CEO call.
