Shave or no, that is the question

Now I usually shave once a week and within a few days I look a little older because it grows back.

Me personally I find that someone that seems older has a better chance of getting an AE role or higher. I feel like that have more authority, or maybe its just the way the speak that makes it seem that way.

Do you think that if you look a little older you have a better shot at being hired over someone younger?

Sales immediately ages you a number of years with or without scruff.

I do feel that appearance plays a factor even though we don't want it to and having a mature demeanor/appearance can get you further. Not sure if that is by having a beard or just the way you present yourself that does it.

Dude it's like POTUS. They come in all fresh faced and age 15 years within the first year.

100% accurate, I was so bright eyed when I started sales and the soul has slowly been ripped from me and now it is just darkness and sadness in my eyes and I kind of enjoy it.

Also my filter of what I will say has greatly diminished and people think I am a bit to abrupt but it is what it is.

Honestly, I don't think it matters that much. There are pros and cons to both.

No matter what make sure itโ€™s put together and itโ€™s not just scruff. Donโ€™t be like the HS kid showing off his โ€œbeardโ€

I have gone back and forth with the beard for years. It does make me look older. But now thatโ€™s not really a good thing. And it requires a lot more time grooming than I want to put in. So I shave like twice a week.

I have a pretty large beard, but it's always trimmed and neat. You do you, just keep it clean.

I seem to have had more success since growing my beard a couple years ago. But I looked like a 10 year old with a receding hairline before I grew it out so maybe im not the best example.

Intentional scruff. Think Ryan Howard in the office early into his time as VP.

Are you an SDR?
Honestly, I prefer not shaving because it's one less thing to do and it also DOES make me look older.
Win win?
