Shitposting as indicator of platform maturity?

Title is obvious.

I see many posts here lamenting the shitty experience superfluous filler that LinkedIn has devolved into. At the same time, weโ€™ve brought some level of parody here with the polls.

Certain threads remind me of more advanced Reddit subs (reoccurring threads, content aggregation posts).

This led me to ponder when we will have our first widely circulated or referenced War Room meme or copy pasta.

Bot sure how to relate this towards tangible product feedback, but it was a fun conversation in my head.

Been wondering about that myself, what the first meme or inside joke specific to the WR will be.ย

I think it is a general lifecycle, platforms start out like grassroots and very collaborative, eventually you get full saturation and content overlap, and finally at the end you get the final stage full of people milking the last bit personal benefit they can before moving to the next platform.

My thought, is because WR is invite only and is gated, hopefully that by default weeds out the individuals that fall into the third bucket, and we stay in the hyper collaborative phase.ย

My counterpoint is Clubhouse being invite only and gated, but still going through a platform hype life cycle faster than anything I remember in recent memory.

You're spot on with the fears though. I think since War Room is narrowly focused on salespeople, and we do have a certain penchant for maximizing our time, this platform has more hope in a guiding purpose sorta way.

Great point. I have also seen public policing with the down votes work really well on here so far, so that may extend it as well.ย

Kind of gets me thinking, sales isnโ€™t massively complicated - how many times will this lead to the same posts popping up, over and over and over?ย

It would depend on the content here being continuously innovating or iterative. You see it in certain subreddits where once a certain golden era is passed the most experienced and knowledgable (thus valuable) members no longer receive anything out of posting and drop off. Then the community runs on reputation until people realize it isnโ€™t the same.

Since this place is bigger than just a subreddit though, and sales people change jobs, have their number reset, face changes in selling landscape, this phenomenon is somewhat more shielded by sales Id argue.
