Should I be concerned?

Hey savages. I think l know what do do here but want feedback.

New to tech sales.

Too performer at mid company in 2021. Person that hired me left and with it promised promotions. Also, underpaid at 49/80.

Left for competitor with huge raise (90/180) and opportunity to work enterprise.

So far new gig is great with one exception. They are growing and disorganized and my manager left a month after I was hired. This made for a messy transition. Getting my feet under me now, but it's been a process and I'm still not trained on key elements of what I sell after 5 months.

Former director from first gig is reaching out for Senior AE position with same salary at a start up with equity options.

I feel like it should explore the new opp but I'm hesitant considering how new I am at the current gig? Happy to clarify or Anwser any questions you all have. This place has been a godsend of info and I value the collective experience of the savages here.

How safe is the start up?  Is it going to be any less disorganized than your current role?

Great Q. Just finished series C. Backed by some big boys. The director intrust is in charge of all new sales in America. I trust him and how he operates.
Current org is a more legacy company that’s smaller and got a cash I fusion and is trying to grow by taking swipes at bigger competitors.
New role would be safe

IDK, grass is always greener is a trap you can fall into but go with your gut I reckon.

This is the way of a growing company: pay well, but be disorganized as hell. Stick it out and enjoy the ride.

I have always been big on leadership.

Who ever you report too has to be solid.

So if you are a big fan of this former director then I would explore it for sure.

Too much bouncing around can be dangerous and it's really important for you to get some big wins on your resume as well as learn foundational tech sales skills. May be safer to stick with the growing company. In Tech it's always disorganized and people are always leaving so don't let that scare you too much. Product market fit is more important.

Stick it out for at least a year. It’s improved since this post.

I would put in at least a year of Enterprise sales as it will open up doors easier in the future
