Should I mention that I’m currently running a company in my new sales job interview?

I recently started a business (it doesn’t take much of my time but it’s doing well) and I’m looking to make a change to a different sales position which im interviewing at today. Do you all think is is this something worth mentioning in the interview for kudos or do you all think this could be perceived as a red flag to a potential employer due them thinking I won’t be giving them all of my time, attention, or making them my #1 priority for income (because they will be) etc etc etc. would love to hear everyone’s thoughts!

Don’t mention it! As a hiring manager that’s a red flag for me because the perception is that full focus won’t be on the new position. 

I know it isn’t always the case but if I have an equally qualified candidate that doesn’t have any other professional obligations, I’ll go with that one. I’m sure you can balance both but if you don’t bring it up it can’t be used for or against you.

100% with you on this @TheFemaleWolf It has been a red flag for me recruiting as well as a red flag for companies when they found out I did some small consultancy work on the side. 

No matter how little time it takes up, you don't want it to affect your chances, so just don't mention it.,

Looks like I'm replying to your comment really late (I'm new to Bravado) but I just had to comment because I recently interviewed with a company that rhymes with reel, and the exact moment I felt the interviewer lost interest was when I said my main priority was securing a new AE role and not my side business.
To me, what you said makes perfect sense but I feel like so many of these companies (especially those that are big on LinkedIn) actually want their AEs to have side businesses, like it's almost a prereq.

No, don't mention it! They'll think the only reason you're taking this role is to use it as a stepping stone until your side biz takes off and that you won't be able to put 100% effort into the position.

Agreed with below, even if you could put 100% effort into your role during the work hours/week they will still think your brain may be elsewhere.

I only brought this up at the last possible minute because there was a clause in the contract (always read the contract)

But if you HAVE to emphasize how little of a deal it is and that it only takes a tiny amount of time
