Sick or just in a draining work environment?

Not that I expect any of you in here to be doctors, and I am going to see one anyways, but I have been noticing since the end of 2021 how my days are different. For one, I barely get online before 10 AM and find myself sleeping in on most mornings (I know, must be nice!).

Still, I feel drained in a way and some of it can relate to job stress.

For one, when I was an SDR at my current company, I produced exceptional results but dealt with two very disrespectful AEs. I got passed over for a promotion because someone had more industry knowledge than me (they came from the space) even though they were here for far less and didn't have the same performance.

Then, I get promoted to AE and get no onboarding or anything, it was a "figure it out as you go" kind of deal. Luckily I had a couple of awesome teammates that helped me out.

Now as an AE, I have to also do account management, renewals, and even putting out fires because one of my CSMs takes no ownership.

I find myself constantly crashing during the day and taking a nap. I can't even get up early like I used to be able to.

I wonder, has anyone else sort of been there in a job where the job itself was that draining? Can certain jobs really do this to you?

Various things could be happening. You need to see a doctor. Get your bloodwork checked.

Damn hope you feel better.

This happened to me once, doctor said I was just too good at sales and everyone else's inadequacy was bringing me down. That's when I bought the private island I live on today. Ever since I got away from everyone's bullshit I have felt much better. Maybe that would help you too?

The only "women" on my island are Beatrice my cat and a coconut with a painted on face named Tracey who I love dearly.

Perhaps consult a nutritionist as well. I've recently become convinced I spent the better part of my life eating essentially poison. Changing your diet can have drastic effects on your energy levels. Different for everyone, so definitely seek some professional opinions.

What did you change about your diet?

I think there is an insane amount of variability from person to person, so what worked for me may very well not work for you. I would 100% consult an expert and not listen to some idiot on the internet.

With that being said.
I first ate basically what most people call a ketogenic diet, kept eliminating things and ended up at a "carnivore diet" now I'm somewhere in between the two.

Down 50 lbs in 10 months and in the best shape of my life.

Again, different for everyone so I would consult a professional.

Secret to happiness: eat right, exercise daily, get plenty of sleep. I would ask you about those things before we spoke about work.

About work - that’s par for the course. No where is perfect. You can dwell on the negative or focus on magnifying the positive.

Good luck on your journey.

Glad you are going to see a doctor.    I'm chiming in to provide support and that, for what it's worth, this internet stranger is pulling for you.

With the amount of work you have to do, this could be a result of stressing building up. When's the last time you took a vacation?

Holy shit, AE/AM/CSM??? You’re probably burned out. I’m exhausted for being an AM/CSM for 🥜 best of luck!
