I once had to get my GC to sign an agreement promising we wouldn't take any of the client's employees hostage before I could submit an RFP... it was for a large, multinational corporation that operated in some wartorn countries, so apparently, that was necessary.

You had to physically turn in packets in specialized envelopes that were hard to find. Oh and original signatures had to be in blue ink.

I'm an OEM rep but I think it can be an issue on both sides. I've had plenty of deals that go well and the VAR and I work extremely well together and I've had total train wrecks where it was obvious that we had different objectives.
