Slow times call for new approaches.

Hi all,

I work in the virtual fair SaaS area and need advice on lead gen, prospecting, and overall sales approach.

Currently, I work with for no commission, no healthcare, and no promise of bonuses. There is no training, and no help as this is a smaller organization. I have 6 years of experience in sales but every job I have had has been completely different industries. In less than 8 months I have only closed about 400K but these clients come back for more all the time.

We have one time events and annual licenses that can be purchased but honestly virtual fair companies in general charge a shit ton for their services ever since the pandemic hit. Because of the cost increase, it has become very difficult to hit markets that need virtual fairs the most (non-profit, ISD's, and small mom-pop's).

I get anywhere from 5-15 warm leads but roughly 75% of those are not ideal customers and are disqualified. We use Google AdWords and I have no access to that data since the CEO wants to keep it at C-suite level.

I feel stuck at this point since there is no way to push for training, marketing, or KPI goals. What should I do? Am I just paranoid for no reason?

Where does the CEO expect you to be in 365 days from today? There should be some sort of goal with systems being built to obtain.ย

Are we missing something here?ย

If this is the case, ummm well try job searching for something a little bit more stable or you never know this might be a temporary issue and things stabilize. Dunno

Ask more questions when interviewing... Frankly, this does not sound like a sales oriented organization.ย  (fully realizing I am only hearing one side)

I was hired as a PM and then moved into sales. I should have made an effort to set boundaries.

Live and learn... however, it does not release the org of their responsibility to put you in a position for success.ย ย

Again, only know what is being stated, however, sounds like a dead end to me.ย  If you truly want to be in sales, find an organization that supports and appreciates their sales team!ย  If you like your industry, seek out a head hunter that works with entry level placements in that industry and go for it.ย  I love sales and believe it is the best profession in the world.

How many times will you call a prospect after they don't answer the first time? At what frequency? I typically don't make a lot of repeat calls, just call with volume consistently and try to catch folks at the right time...
