This was a very long one at over 10 months. This was a refresh of their imaging data storage environment with improved performance and increased capacity. Big lesson learned here is always get to the top as quick as possible. We had been working with the lower IT team that managed the storage and they were giving great feedback and project timing to us but it never moved anywhere. We finally got engaged with CTO and he hadn't heard any of the information that the lower IT team said they'd been relaying to him... We showed him the proposal which included expanded/improved environments as well as a 3rd environment for an AirGap storage with ransomware protection (Scripps Healthcare ransomware attack was plenty of motivation for this other customer to protect themselves too) and grew the deal from 650k to over $1MM. Going to the top means more movement, power, and strategic discussions.
