Sold 1.15ARR (203% avg yearly quota) as an SMB rep for a SaaS company and made £110k pre-tax. I know it depends on a lot of factors, but how much do other reps get paid in SaaS companies if they sell that amount?

Was this for the year, for a quarter what is the timeline for the 110k payment? Was that just commission or total compensation including base? There’s a lot of factors not named here and what is the total sales volume number?

110k for the whole year (says a lot since you’re asking if it was for a Q), and it was base + commission.

Yeah, if you’re going 200% to quota you should be going above 150k in total comp but that’s also why I asked for total sales volume IE.( if you are closing 700k for your company you should expect to see 20-30% in total comp so 140 at minimum

so I closed almost 100k MRR or 1.15 annual recurring revenue (ARR). But yeah I was in small business so my comp plan wasn't as good as it is now. It was also 60% base 40% commission. So the accelerators were lower as only the 40% was multiplying. Now my OTE is higher and it's 50% - 50%

There’s many orgs where doing that would have you earning more than Mid market. Also the margins can factor in here but it can’t hurt to put feelers out to see what your value is.

Yeah, makes sense. That’s why I told the % as well. Just so I can get a few ideas. I know e.g Senior AEs were selling less and making more because their salary and OTE was different than mine. I was an ISR when I made that last year.

I was in 1 company where a $1m deal was the minimum the company would accept and in another where $1m was 5x quota.

If you’re not making at least 1/5-1/6 of your quota or total % to plan, I’d get the hell out.

For instance, quota of $2,000,000, you should make at least $333,000. Increase the more over plan you are.

Comp plans range from simple payout calculations to complex mathematical computations that Einstein himself couldn't substantiate.  It depends on the type of product you sell, the demand, size of companies you deal with, the nature of the sales cycle (transactional/enterprise), etc.

With all of that said, if you doubled your annual quota and sold over a million, you're doing an amazing job and I feel that your commission is below what it should be.  But again, it all depends on numerous factors.  Congrats on the killer year and nice commission regardless.

at my company that would be about 200k in commission + base salary (anywhere from 90-150k depending on tenure)

Edit to add: we're also in the US. so things may be wildly different with how pay structures work. may be comparing apples and oranges here.

a 1.15 SMB sale? Practically unheard of - congrats! As a Commercial AE that deal would pay me roughly 2.5x my salary.
