SPIN Selling, what's the deal with closing ?

Hi all-

I just finished reading SPIN Selling and I have a quick question: what's the deal with the chapter where the author tells you not to use closing techniques in a complex sale, but doesn't really explain how to do it other than by saying "provide value". What's the deal there? Am I missing something?
