Stale Leads - 4 Month Sales Internship

BDR at a Proptech startup. The demo goal is 35/week. The average deal size is $4000. 80% exec, and 20% close.

I am tasked with calling warm leads in our CRM who signed up to our platform for the free version and booking them into a demo to upsell them. The only issue is all my leads have become stale. They had all been called/demo'd multiple times even before I came. They have been touched on an average of 5 times before I even came. Inbound leads are absolute trash too. We can use external platforms (google, linkedin), but my company has no other methods of lead gen to support me. I have tried using websites like Kijiji/Craigslist to generate leads, but nobody on there was SQL due to their company size being too small.

My question to the sales community is how I should approach this scenario? Though I only have 12 more weeks left, I like crushing everything I do and these stale leads are causing me a lot of stress.

Take the experience, make whatever money you can and run. Your employer is either:

1. Taking advantage by giving you such a high target - since you're a student/intern
2. Crazy

In either of the 2 situations, you wouldn't want to be a full-time employee with them.

140 Demos a Month from 1 person. Jesus.

Is this a startup?

Based on what you're describing I wonder if it'll last until the end of your internship...

$19/hr +comm. aint too bad for an Internship so unless you have something else to walk right into, I would stick it out.  Its going to be a solid learning experience for you and give you something to jump off from eventually.

7 demos per day, EVERY DAY!?

That can't be realistic or doable.

If you join a SaaS company and thrive at the beginning due to inbound leads and good SDR and then sales start going down due to a change of SDR and less inbounds, does that mean you’re not a competent sales person or does it mean it’s time to move on to another company?
