Starting a New AE Role, What do you do in the first month to set your self up for success?

starting a new role as ENT AE (Saas) I have been an Enterprise AE before but this company is smaller.

Curious what other people do when they start at a new company to make sure they hit the ground running.

a few things I am thinking.

  1. talk to customers find out why the bought, and why they still use i
  2. Work with SE to understand why we demo the way we do.
  3. Look to understand the true problems the solutions solves not just the features it has.

what am I missing??

Walk up to the biggest baddest AE and punch them. Let them know there’s a new alpha in town.

Or, read the journal from @CoorsKing

Look up the onboarding journals in the search bar. Also the academy tab.

Whenever I start a new role or move to a new company, I have followed a very similar process:
- Week 1: Soak it all in and get onboarded with the Tech Stack, Identify the Top Reps and set a 15-20 minute meeting with each for week two.
- Week 2: Meet with Top reps, learn their style, process and targets.  Set meetings with my direct report to review what I have learned and where I can find success from their experience.
- Week 3: Establish my own KPI's and Target Logos and start crushing.
- Week 4: Own the whole damn company.

1.) go to the VP of Sales and ask why you don't have the best SDR and territory
2.) Reply all to each company wide email
3.) ask the prospect why they haven't bought yet on each discovery call

or

ignore all this terrible advice and look at @CoorsKing onboarding guide

Well number 2 is valid. DEFINITELY do that. You want them to remember your name. Everybody loves those replies, you will be popular in no time

make sure your CRM setup is CLEAN. Sometimes they just take a license and rename it from the old AE to you, so now you have all their old tasks, crap notes and junk. If that's the case, clean it out. If it's a brand new account, make sure you start on day 1 with setting yourself up documenting all the little things people mention about your clients/prospects, start setting tasks to research your clients, etc.

See if you can grab time with the other AE and find out what they do to be successful.

You should also focus on building pipeline and contacts.
