Starting new gig on Monday: Recs Needed

Fellow Savages - I'm starting a new gig on Monday (LFG!). This will be my first time back in an office for a week straight in 1.5 years. After this week it will be my first true road warrior position as I've been an ISR to this point.

My two questions:
1. What are your best tips to make a strong first impression on your new leadership and team when you start a role?
2. How can I stay engaged with the team when I'm on the road or working remote?

1. Best first impression? Glad you asked. Bring some extra paper and refill all of the printers and fax machines in the office. This is one of those zero-effort initiatives that goes a long way. Don't expense it either. This will show that you're not expecting handouts (reimbursements) either and that you're a true team player.

2. Send a daily slack message to each member of your team in the morning asking how they're doing and if they'd like you to Postmates them some coffee or lunch. Don't expense that either. Again, strong first impressions go a long way and people in the office will shower you with love. You will truly earn icon status this way.

1) Ask the questions like "What can I do this week to make an impact on the team?"
2) Slack, google meet/zoom, carrier pigeons are also a nice touch.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
#2 should take care of itself as you ask for help, close business, etc., and get into the groove.

#1 I would recommend using the search bar as this topic has come up a decent amount. Tag me if you can't find anything.
