Stop Saying "but"

Stop saying "but" and find way to replace it with other options. Usually just switching it to "and" can go a great length to lighten your emails and calls. People are heavily conditioned to immediately dig their heels in when they hear "but", even before the next sentence!

There are obviously exceptions to this rule, but almost every time your message will come out just as clear but in a more positive light to the prospect if you can do this.

Happy Thursday (?) I think, currently on the road so days are meaningless and time is just a construct.

And, or, however, in some instances, all are options off the top of my head.

You are right. The word "but" has a hella negative connotation.

Ugh, please donโ€™t say hella. I have so much respect for you and it hurts my soul to see you use that word.

However is not only a better option, but wit implies "here's another way to do this even though this is all negative".ย

I find that it negates what was said beforehand. Similar to saying no offense and then roasting the person

What is your view on saying "butt"?

This is true though, and follows the rule of optimism/expectation. Adding more "ands" makes me think of Dude Where's My Car ("And Then???")

I for one prefer "ass" because I'm a mature adult.

Seconded, if youโ€™re gonna say butt in a sales call you might as well commit and move to โ€˜assโ€™ if you want to be crude or โ€˜bootyโ€™ if you wanna be weird

As any married man will tell you, never say but in a sentence.

Nothing that comes before the but counts in an argument.
