Worked with a guy who came from a competitor and was their “top dog”. 

After two weeks he came to the holiday party, got mugged trying to buy drugs at 3am in NYC, missed the next day of meetings and then tried to expense a bar bill from LGA for 200 dollars claiming that if he wasn’t at the holiday party he wouldn’t have been at LGA so it should all be covered. Incredible work. 

Also had a guy who was fired after 3/4 months. In his interview he claimed to be a self starter and blah blah blah. 

He was sent to a conference, his flight home got cancelled for weather (single guy no one needing him at home) and he freaked out. Blamed the company for the cancellation, called the company second rate and things like that in an email to the CEO … he was let go that week.

They hired a, as the VP described her, " hot shot silicone valley AE who KNOWS how to sell saas" 

DID NOT CLOSE ONE DEAL IN 13 MONTHS (4 week sales cycle $10k ARR) 

was put on a PIP, closed 2 deals. 

Still fired haha 

She spent most days online shopping.

The thing that shocks me the most here is that it took over a year to get pipped. Entering the judgement zone here, but it sounds like she's an annoying rich kid

the CRO was just SO infatuated that she worked for a big Saas company from SF. like somehow that was going to help? The big miss was she sold a $100K + ACV product then came to a company where the ACV was $3k......HUGE difference haha

Dude got hired as a fresh, no experience SDR because he convinced whoever interviewed him that he was hot shit.

Talked about how he was going to be the top performer within a month.

Didn't make anymore than maybe 10 calls a day, claimed that he was more of an email guy and that he didn't need to cold call.

Was bench-warming in the company's call center by week 3.

One got fired in my last org because he couldn't keep it in his pants during shadow calls. 

Constantly used to barge in - when he had strict instructions to be a silent listener. 

Was way too egoistic about it, since he carried double the work-ex of the average AE.

Was shown the door in 3 weeks.

Had a rep come in guns blazing at my last gig;

Closed a boatload of accounts within the first couple of months.
Turned out he was stealing unassigned contacts that came thru marketing e-mails.
Don’t know how management didn’t catch it sooner given that everyone had access in hubspot—nevertheless, let go that week.
Got paid out for his commish tho
