Suck at sales in new industry

what's popping everyone in Sales War Room? hope y'all have a blissful bliss day.
I've been in sales for at least 6years specifically in outbound sales. Recently shuffled into a new company as SDR in new industry (Telcom)

They believed in me 1000% coz my results spoke for themselves, less i knew about Telcom industry. but of course the paycheck looked sexy for me to say No.

Now I've missed my first month target. i suck at this rn, regardless of constantly studying the industry stats.

here's when tires kiss the ground, how you guys keep it rock even after changing the industry?
I'll appreciate y'all take on this stuff.

One month? Brother give yourself a break and cut yourself some slack

Most reps take 3-6 months to get into the groove of things, learn the product, etc. etc.

Don’t be so harsh in yourself

Agreed. Ramp is there for a reason.

What I'm wondering about is spending 6 years in sales and then moving to an SDR role.

Were you in B2C or B2B? Has there been any career progression? Are you looking to close?

Thanks man for the advice.

What was your position in B2B? and why the switch to B2C?

I didn't realize that SDRs played much of a role in B2C...

Did they discuss what ramp looked like for this role? Most sales roles are usually 6 months. Don't beat yourself up because you missed the first month. If you're THAT frustrated by it, get with your manager, and ask for feed back or things that you could improve on.

Discussions about ramp at this company is not considered much, but training and workshops is at peak according to best SDRs.

I appreciated the advice man, will definitely look into this

Training is definitely important, but is it possible that the time spent in training and being on-boarded contributed to missing your number?

In one month, I wouldn't expect much. The fact that you want to improve is a good sign, but don't beat yourself up.
Are you measuring up to their expectations? Do they have targets for you as you ramp? Are you able to shadow the best SDR to hear their pitch/objection handling?

Yah! totally, they expected a lot from me but the Sales Director was honest before i started ramp, said besides my initial skills in sales. This is a new industry so i should focus much on learning how it works before i go back to myself. Which I totally agree with. I’m measuring up according to MRR of entire team with percentage of every SDR contribution coz i never considered myself a newbie though I am seen as.

Appreciated the advice man

you're 30 days in, first 2 weeks you're head is spinning. Make the dials, do the emails. people answer, phone still works.
