Actually being in egypt it didn't impact us because anything that is scheduled to be shiped doesn't need to go through the canal just by the Mediterranean or red sea ports.
However there was a sense of embarrassment and fear that people would lose faith in passing through now. So if shipping vessels lose confidence in the canal and they find other options then we have a long term impact.

My understanding is that any impact I will feel (as an American) will be in a few weeks once the supply chain has dried up a bit and products I want take an extended amount of time to get to me.
Then again, I haven't done a ton of research on it... outside the memes.
