Saw this same pole on LinkedIn, except the "Other" box was a higher percentage and people were writing "Company Values align with mine" 🤣 🤣 🤣

I voted for other. I feel like I can make similar money doing other things but I'm really interested in working with a variety of people at a variety of companies. It breaks up what would normally be a pretty boring day / week.

Got into sales because being a spreadsheet jockey paid well but was a freaking miserable existence. Stayed for the flexibility/pay combination and thrill of closing large deals.

Money is always #1 for me, career advancement doesn't guarantee pay bumps

A mix of money, career advancement, and control.
Sales seems to be more or a meritocracy than other departments. To become a Sr. XYZ, I just need to perform well. Lateral moves are constantly available at other orgs that may be more growth oriented to advance your career.
A person with similar experience in accounting for example is going to be promoted more on tenure or a more senior person leaving than pure merit.

I voted other - Freedom, weirdly enough. I suppose you could chalk that up to money in a way, but sales is the only career I’ve found so far that allows me to work on my own time and my own pace (as long as I’m hitting numbers and metrics), allows me to think freely to close deals, and pays me a high enough salary + commish to live comfortably. Not to mention, once you have the right network that you can bring along wherever you work, you become the closest thing to an untouchable employee. You get paid big dollars, no one fucks with you, and everyone knows the business you bring could leave right along with you if you take off. Not many careers like that I’ve seen.
There’s also a set of skills that sales helps me develop and keep sharp that will eventually help me start my own business one day - that’s also extremely important.

Haven't been great at many things. Being "The top salesperson" in my org motivates me. If I can do this, than I can do anything kind of mentality. Plus money is a huge motivator. Being poor is too damn expensive.

I'm a mission motivated person.
"But bruh, ur name is Money."
Yeah yeah, I def like that too. But solving problem by delivering a product that helps the people I serve is the underlying piece that gets me on the grind every day.
Found that staying focused on that leads to career advancement and, uh, money.

For me, it was a combination of Money, Career Advancement (Not Marketing, I promise) and being able to WFH to be closer to my daughter.
