Honestly our CEO handled it well. Was upfront about the reasoning, process, and that it was vital for the long-term health of the business.
Boiled down to hired GTM headcount too fast.
Specifically, a whole lot of marketing people who weren't doing shit.
That had downstream impact on reps who weren't hitting their KPIs (pipe gen and ARR).
It was a matter of making the cuts now or not being able to raise a Series B with good terms and running out of cash in <6 months.
This makes the business look better on paper, and gets us runway through middle of next year.

Agreed. A bit of survivors guilt, but also humbled that I was one of the ones the kept. Especially considering I'm relatively new.
Damn, I just hope they havenโt laid off deserving candidates just because they earned more than anyone else. Most of the companies laid off mix batches just to prove itโs random but your CEO has done a great job of addressing the issues with the result

Giving them to remaining AEs. I went from owning the north central (MN, WI, IL) to basically owning everything west of the Mississippi.
