talk normal

Haven't stopped by here in a while..but wanted to drop THE WORLD'S GREATEST SALES ADVICE!!!

Talk normal. in your meetings, your emails, etc...

Take complicated things, take your jargon, take your stupid phrases and stick them where the sun don't shine!!!

I had this epiphany after having kids. we try to convince our kids and persuade them to do things they don't want..and they are the most stubborn beings on the planet. if you break things down in their simplest terms, and talk normal, they tend to listen.

your prospects are the same way.

I've started using "LMK" instead of "let me know"...instead of FOLLOWING UP, CIRCLING BACK, BUMPING THIS TO THE TOP OF YOUR INBOX, just get to the point.

thank me later

I know itโ€™s annoying! But I still always type everything out. If the execs donโ€™t itโ€™s their problem

A sense of humor is a necessity in todays climate. Take a breath and crack a smile.

For the record, I donโ€™t sign off. I send it with my signature after my copy. Last campaign had a 40% response rate to CEOs and COOs at Series A companies.

Getting cute with some acronyms shouldnโ€™t matter if you can write compelling and clear copy with a good CTA.

i'm not mad. I don't care what you think about me using "LMK" in an email. it works. If that's "getting cute," then i'm absolutely adorable.

I'm not doing 'LMK' - I'll still say 'let me know'

But otherwise, you're spot on. Brevity, simplicity, and real language are key.

I agree in principal but you lose me at โ€œLMKโ€. Thatโ€™s just substituting jargon for jargon, really.

Using LMK lets ME know that you're a junior sales person - not a professional who would know to type it out. This isn't a text to your "brah" - its a professional environment. Always better to be more formal than less.

haha k. you do you. i'll keep building pipeline and getting execs' attention. "always better to be more formal than less" might be good advice in your fancy SaaS world or whatever uptight industry you're in. not for me and all the replies I get
