Team Lead Interview - tips?

Hello fellow Sales Savages,


Later this week I have a team lead interview to lead the BDR's over on the SMB side of the business.


Any tips on specific questions that should be asked? If you used to a be a BDR manager what do you wish you would have asked in the interview?

--What is the growth strategy after Team Lead? (Manager, director, etc). Can I go forward to an AE role?
--What kind of management development doe the company offer?
--What does the comp structure look like?

Just a few things I'd want t know/what I'd want to tell a new team lead at my company.

Wait, I thought this was a manager thing you were going for? Be very careful about Team Lead roles. They're often kind of a trap.

Okay, cool. I thought the rug got swept out from under you and was going to be irritated on your behalf.

-What do they want to see improved from today?
-Make sure you know who you're expected to align with. Does marketing have say over anything you do? Who do you dotted line to?
-Get very, very clear guidelines on comp assuming you get the offer
-Are you going to be expected to do hiring? When? How often?
-Will you have budget to implement tools?
