Team Leadership vs. Individual Contributor

I am having the hardest time choosing. I am currently an RSM. I've done both roles. I enjoyed them both.
So many good opps out there with very competitive compensation packages and good people to work with/for. Big companies and start ups alike.

If you have tips, feedback, grudge, shit, success, or nightmare , pls feel free to comment and share. Thanks!

What is your current role? Are you a people manager, or are you an IC? If you're an IC and looking to make the move--why do you want to be a manager? If you are a manager today--why do you want to go back to IC? The answers to those questions will tell you a lot.

Depends on what you prefer. I’ve done my fair share of IC and loved it…
until I got a taste of supporting my team. IC is still fun, but my jam is getting to see their wins. What gets your rocks off?

IC now.

However management is my goal, I thrive off coaching and team wins, eventually I'll make the switch but I have a few milestones I'd like to hit professionally, financially, and personally prior to.

You got to figure out what makes tick. Both avenues have their upside. They’re also both a grind so you’re better off doing what you enjoy most
