Oh boy.

Tough tough tough.

We do a weekly prospecting happy hour on Friday's at 230PM.

We hop on a zoom call, I share my screen with Spotify and share sound, we listen to music, drink, and prospect.

It ensures we have some team time together and can talk, while also scrubbing accounts and adding them to sequences.

In addition, I know from the hours of 230-4 on Friday my team is putting in solid effort.

There is a lot you can do, but one of the best things to me is consistently meeting with the team as a whole. Talking about almost anything but I think talking about what you are doing/running into and just doing a vibe check is important. Then if anyone seems off, check in with them 1:1.

Do you do morning standups, or any quarterly focus trainings as a team?

Weekly meetings on Monday mornings helps and once and a while on Fridays to see how the week went can be great. We do focus trainings honestly based on what the team feels like they need.

Do you see any benefit to doing morning and afternoon meetings on a daily basis?

Daily is tough especially twice a day. You want meetings to be worthwhile. Do you have enough to talk about that often? Now, maybe for a team that’s trying to grow some cohesion early on it’d be worth it just to build the mojo. But when I’ve seen it with experienced teams it tends to be a waste.

Great points! I have been doing it mostly to build cohesion because there are a lot of new reps. We are finally in a groove, so thinking about pulling those meetings back a lot!

Hold sessions where the SDRs can ask questions and share tips with their peers. Reward those that share information with small things like gift cards, extra PTO etc. Tribal knowledge over slack isn't the same as getting a group together that is bullshitting and screensharing.

Invest in the software Ambition. Do it.

Be super active in the team slack and go out of your way to hype up your team. Run random spiffs in the channel so they are always paying attention.

Incorporate an element of fun, humor and community in your culture. Take time to actually get to know your team and mix it with your normal work. Too many zooms now are all business since everyone wants to optimize every second of every day. Every 10 minutes you spend being human with your team will pay off.

I love Ambition, but it's pricey and when you have six reps its tough.  Especially when leadership is stingy with those dollars.

I've sent my team coffee gift cards to have a cup of coffee together on a certain day/time.

Recognition, no matter how small, matters.

One meeting a week is totally not business talk, jokes, etc. Keep one light
