Territory data

How much time do you spend sifting through bad territory data to find the real companies or opportunities?
Every company I have been at seems to have terrible data they are working off, leading to a territory list of 100+ accounts, 90% of which are bogus, duplicates, or already assigned.

There is amazing thing called ChatGPT. If you prompt it with you company, ICP, value prop, and descriptions of your solutions and then ask it to sift through that list it can surface the accounts you are looking for. If you have a geo territory this works even better and can find companies that aren’t even on your radar.

Yeah - there are some really great use cases. Research and summaries are two.

Do you guys think it's working well for SMB? I have my doubts.

Definitely works best for larger public companies. There is just more public information available. However even that data is not real time since most GPTs don’t have a live feed of real-time info.

Application in SMB will come down to one’s ability to input data and provide thoughtful prompts.

Most reps think of ChatGPT as a calculator. Put in a request, spits out an answer. That use case is simply a waste of time and energy. The best will create prompts that turn that GPT into an advisor/mentor. Helping them expand their own brain power by helping to cut out basic menial tasks.

Having a good Revops team surely would help. This exists in SMB and smaller companies. Or industries which are not that important/niche that data orgs just don't focus much on them.

What I've seen is that people often spend the first 2-3 days of the month to vet the data and then begin their month in a better way. Maybe do this.
