+1 on the very desperate. I haven't had anyone respond "don't text me" though so I guess that's a positive.

It won't be my first tactic, but I've found that after a few phone calls, or if they have been difficult to reach, texting can be a low pressure, less formal way of connecting with them. It may open them up to share more since it is more casual and isn't sent from a company email...

I think it depends on the situtation...as well as age. I think younger people prefer texting versus calling.

The average deal size and renewal rates are significantly higher on my team when we have a "text message level" relationship with the champion.
