Hey all,
A few years back I got fired (f'ed by management on a career making deal). I reached out a mentor of mine and he told me this story.
In 2008, both him and his wife lost their jobs. They were struggling with the emotional side of it all. But they then realized that what they deemed "rock bottom" is what others would still call a great life. So they started this tradition, which my wife and quickly adopted. Every Friday, they pour a shot of tequila and say 1 thing they are thankful for.
It's not easy each week, but I think it does wonders for mental health. To always take a second and say Man life is actually pretty good... Plus who doesn't like shots?
So this week, I'm thankful for the WR community. For those that don't know I was recently fired, but the support here is amazing. And even when I was employed or when I will be soon again, the willingness to help, share ideas and advice in what is an incredibly difficult profession is just refreshing.
Cheers to you all and I encourage everyone to adopt Thankful Tequila Fridays!
