The future of work

As salespeople we have to be entrepreneurial and creative. Not all of us are cut from the same cloth. With that said, with tech like GPT3 and other AI, the only jobs likely to be around in 10 years are more creative, relationship based or founder based.

How many lower end sales jobs will be replaced by computers? I think most account assistants will be gone. Possibly AM. Maybe even SDR.

Who is most likely to be replaced first?

I can see some AM duties being replaced (admin, routine customer service,) but I don't think sales roles could ever be taken over by AI. Too complex and I don't think humans want to deal extensively with AI robots.

The problem I see for AMs is the routine stuff will go away first. But the relationship could probably be handled mostly by something like Replika. It's not quite there yet, but close.

Even prospecting I can see going away soon. GPT3 can already write better than most of the prospecting I get on LinkedIn. I know if I have a choice, I'm gonna have a whole team of Rick Deckard running around.

Maybe. I can't see most companies turning to AI for these sorts of things for a very long time tho. Most companies took forever to even adjust from working from home lol

Hahaha good point. That being said, companies are quick to make decisions involving cheaper and easier solutions. WFH is tough, they have security, production, rent on a vacant office, video conferencing solutions, etc.
This could start as doing admin work for an AM or replacing an AA. And end up replacing an AM or AE fairly quickly if they see results.

Good points. Should be interesting to see what happens either way.

Not saying this because my livelihood depends on it, but IMO high touch customer service and sales are never going to be replaced by AI.  There are some efficiencies like triage etc that are probably already being helped by AI but if the problem or the solution is not super easy and the software itself fully automated from implementation up [almost none is in the B2B space due to complexity with individual customer environments], there will always be a place for people to buy from people as well as have problems solved between people.

I don't think any of these roles are going to go. Sales isn't automation proof but I'd be surprised to see any of these things go (unless everything goes and then we're just all fucked).

If people are saying its hard not to catch feelings for Replika, it worries me that some of the smaller roles could go. Especially with the emergence of chat for leads. GPT3 makes a hell of a chat bot, and could very easily replace outreach or incoming lead assistance. Then moving the lead over to an AE or bizdev manager after.
I asked it to make me viral headlines and custom email subjects before. It does amazing work. It can also research a customer far faster and more accurately than I could dream of and write them a custom email.
Seth Godin said in the chat that it doesn't write better than him yet, but that day will come soon.

Is this a free tool? I'm not aware of this at all.

Its not free and it can be very tough to get access. I got access last year so it may be easier now. But Replika, copy.ai and a bunch of other software has been built on top of it now. So you can play around without having access. But AI has gotten very good, I'll say that much.

Interesting. Didn't even know this was technology on the horizon, let alone in existence.

Gaming CHAIRS, man. Gaming gear is so ergonomic. I'm honestly stunned there hasn't been a sincere push into B2B for those companies.
