The most important things to consider for cold email

I know there's a bunch of "templates" on here but I wanted to post my most important ways of getting high-level execs to respond to completely cold emails, here's what works for me....

1.) Keep them short. Literally no more than 2 sentences, especially if you're emailing a VP or other executive, they don't "read" emails, they scan them. This means you don't have time to say who you are, what you do, and why they should meet with you, you only get about 15 words so use them wisely to get that VP/Executive on the phone. One of my best ones go like this:

Hey Jack,

I heard you guys were looking at an ERP upgrade this year, do you have some time in the next couple weeks to meet?

Regards,

2.) Use the fucking word YOU more than the words "I" or "We" Notice the above email, it's short, and it doesn't say anything about "ME", keep it about them, always, and you might get a response.

Take THAT, savages. You're all welcome.

also remember that most people scan emails on the "preview" of their smart phone, so your point has to be early and visible in that preview

I do this with bullet points too on follow up/recap emails. You're speaking the truth.

Love the bullet point life.

VP's & C's don't want paragraph recaps, their time is way more valuable than mine.ย
