I learned everything I know about sales process from Chris Farley's character in Tommy Boy.

I learned everything I know about sales training from Ben Affleck's character in Boiler Room.

I learned everything I know about running sales contests from Alec Baldwin's character in Glengarry Glen Ross.

I learned everything I know about resigning from a job with tact and grace from Tom Cruise's character in Jerry Maguire.

"Death of a Salesman" I learned there is at least one rep who is worse than me

It was an interesting movie. The power of a good script was on display there - overshadowed by the sex, drugs, etc.

Boiler Room is similar in demonstrating what a really good sales person can do, minus most of the distractions.

I think he is a liar and a thief. Great for people with no morals and one-time sales but you better have an exit strategy that includes offshore accounts and be prepared to live in non-extradition countries.

Same with Boiler Room, Glenn Garry Glen Ross and similar "pressure sales" characters/movies. They give sales a bad name but they sure are entertaining.

Learnt that salesman should not be like him - though he made lots but without integrity and ethics

I love the movie but it's less about sales and more about the fun substances you can afford to take while in sales while no one judges you

Not a sales movie per se, but Margin Call gives some insight into what the upper echelons of leadership are going thru, and how that rolls down to us peons.

That movie is the second, there is another older one that I think has the same name and it is about a bank

Let's just say it made my wife ask me "So is this what you guys do on your sales trips?".

Had to clarify that no, we do not do hookers and cocaine, nor even martinis at lunch (usually).
