This deal took me 6 months to close. Not for any bad reason, it's a brand new construction of track homes in los angeles, california. The client is purchasing a 1,288,700 purchase price, did a 966,545 loan. Closed it yeseterday :)

Always been curious--what's the base pay like for loan officers? Is the majority of your comp in commish?

as an independent loan officer i get zero base pay, not a cent. 100% commission. My commission is 1% on everything I lend. "Cherry" on top is mortgage bankers have had to be w2 since like 2012, which was before i was in in this business, im 29 years old, so i'm taxed like a MOFO. Such BS lol. W2, no salary/hourly pay.

I do get benefits though, and they pay probably 70% of the total cost.
