It was a bit of everything - the short story according to govt reg (in the Great White North), every single gram of the good stuff has to be tracked from the moment it sprouts to the moment it reaches the customer. We're talking recording weight changes for any trimming, drying, package movement, oil creation (that's a biggie). It's annoying for producers, but pretty standard when it comes to food and bev compliance.

So the company I worked for had a hybrid hardware/software solution to record and report on everything - TLDR is think SAP lite, but for weed.

Company ended up being acquired and I was laid off which was a shitshow of a start to a sales career - especially when I had been doing so well - but that's the game lol. Thankfully the relationships I made there pulled me into to bigger and better things
