this just seems INSANE to me

We were well on our way to building a solid sales team. 1:1:1 ratio of SDR to AE to AM. Robust back-end support, high performing SDRs. Rocketship about to take off.


But UH OH!! Revenue isn't growing fast enough better shake things up! CEO realigning everything, stripping responsibilities from VPs and directors/managers. "iT's OnLy TeMpOrArY uNtIl wE gEt tHiS EnGiNe rEvVeD uP!!!!


New model: 2 SDRs, 12 AEs, 2 AMs.

2:1 is the best. also, let the SDRs work with all AEs dont handcuff them to 1 or 2. it should be a round robin type of approach.ย

Hard to tell what you mean by these ratios, but I will say the worst job experience I ever had was as a BDR with a 1:1 BDR:AE ratio. Felt like having 2 managers. 1 with real authority, 1 who affected my pay more. We all know most AEs have no business managing anyone

I'm an SDR been doing it for a while now, but have been working at a company that uses the SDR role as a training cycle to be an AE, 3 to 6 months tops and you're already moving your own customers. So idk, it depends?
