The problem here is that when a manager sends an email in place of a meeting, only half the AE's read the email.ย

This AE reads all of the emails. Could have to do with my money, and messing with my money is messing with my emotions. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Venting is fine, but if you don't take action to change the situation then you are party to your own misery. Do something about it, or find a crossword puzzle to do.

I agree, but sometimes the person talking on the meeting can't always articulate or explain what they want to via an email so occasionally the meeting is easier, annoyingly.ย

I understand your pain. Honestly, I prefer meeting because we start and end our meeting having fun. Out of 30 mins we discuss business for 15-20 mins and I don't find it a waste because it helps us to talk freely about any shitย

Agreed @TheOverTakerย I have to sit in them weekly and have to turn my camera off from time to time to silent scream to let out frustrations and then turn the camera back on.ย ย

The only saving grace is that the "state of the union" upkeep items (purchasing updates, marketing campaigns, etc) are skimmed over and sent out via email and we are allowed to get into the meat and potatoes portion of the meeting faster discussing sales strategy, trainings, lead generation etc.ย

I worked for a CEO who would decline any meeting that was set if it didn't list the Purpose, the Plan, and the Outcome.

I've implemented this strategy both internally and externally to a lot of success.

If you don't know what explicitly you are trying to accomplish and how you are going to accomplish it, you get these kind of wasteful meetings

Full honesty though, I know some personality types that this caused issues for. They would be nervous to set internal meetings and drastically overthink it. Spend 60 minutes trying to write the PPO for a 30 minute meeting.

Amen, i wish this was an auto response for meetings that could have been an email. Also, can you send the agenda out before the meeting? Its like they know its a waste of time and everyone is spent with water cooler talk for the first half.

We have all been there.ย  I feel your pain.ย  ย

It's worse when you have the meeting and the very people who really should be in that meeting...are the very ones who missed the meeting and then take up your time asking you what happened and if they missed anything important.
