Our sales ops manager is probably one of the smartest guys in the company.ย  He was an AE before making the move over there.ย  Didn't really have the "stuff" to be a really successful rep, but he recognized his skill set might be better suited for ops.ย  He crushes it over there, and his word carries a lot of weight in the sales organization here.ย  I guess the point is, if you think your skill set better aligns with being in sales ops then go for it.ย  Could be a great opportunity.ย ย

Honestly think it's a smart move if:

1. you don't love the stress of closingย
2. you are data / metrics / excel / sql proficient. Or are willing to get there at least.

I appreciate the advice I am a process person and I love looking at metrics and dashboards. I have done operations in the past just not sales ops. So it would be a new challenge .ย
