Loudness doesn't equate to intelligence, status, or confidence.ย

Watch for the ones that are taking notes, listening, subtly agreeing or disagreeing with you so you can adjust accordingly.ย

They are going to be your champion to the one trying to assert dominance and power to stroke their ego.ย

That's just my opinion ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I have seen it as well, but I have also seen more "quiet people" be completely disengaged and not focused at all. I think he's making a lot of blanket statements that don't necessarily lend themselves to diverse experiences. However, the concept of listening and being quiet is extremely powerful in sales - the longer you can stay quiet, the more the prospect will want to talk.ย

Eh, seems a little biased. I agree that loud does not always equal smart, and that people (especially salespeople) definitely need to know when to shut up and listen.

That said, I don't believe that quiet always means smart or good listener. Some people are quiet because they're bored/tuned out, don't have anything to contribute, or are afraid to speak up and willing to just go with whatever a loud person suggests.

My favourite person in a meeting (both internal and external) is a person who offers insightful and relevant contributions of their own while still leaving opportunities for others to have their say.

Praise quietness, not hot air and noise. 100%! this is supper critical not just for meetings but everyphone call god I wish our reps would just shut up sometimes tired of hearing them talk the sale into the ground
