Thoughts on the CBD industry: The next ''big thing'' ?

As many of you know, I started working for a CBD company a couple of months ago, did my first trade show last week and if you ask me I truly believe this industry has an enormous potential to become the next ''big thing''.

Do you feel the same?

CBD has been the "big" thing for a while now and I'd say if you don't live in a legal state already chances are your CBD is straight bunk hemp. There is so much money involved that if you weren't "in the know" 10 years ago you are way, way behind already.ย

I want to add that I also firmly believe in CBDs benefits, I just donโ€™t think anything is going to revolutionize the market at this point that hasnโ€™t been done already.

What is it that you see as being disruptive to the market? I was involved in the business for a long time and I feel it's oversaturated if anything. It's similar to seltzers, they are finally reaching a tipping point of saturation where they are now losing market share because consumer's are getting confused with the bombardment of all things canned/seltzered. @bamageorgeย

I feel like the CBD cloud (hehe) has already wafted over the industry. It's in everything, and even the cargo markets will insure storage/shipments of the raw goods. It was big, but now it's just "here".

I'd say the next big thing is mushrooms. Once states start legalizing and decriminalizing them, the microdose movement is really going to explode

I do actually. It's not happening overnight by any means but it is a healthy, non-invasive way to fight depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc. I am in California and I know quite a few companies who are already selling and marketing their products through Instagram, word-of-mouth, and networking. Whatever the first state is to legalize this (Colorado, Oregon, maybe California), those guys are going to be absolutely crushing it.

I am definitely looking into that now, thank you for sharing that.ย  I had no idea mushrooms could help you fight depression & anxiety.

I think CBD is already here among certain groups of people, however I think there still is an educational piece within the CBD industry among other folks who aren't aware of it yet/don't know the benefits that needs to take place.

Couldn't agree more with you, Happy. Additionally, there's a stigma attached to CBD products.

100% there's a stigma, however CBD is super helpful for those dealing with anxiety/sleep issues. Personally I've used CBD to help with muscle soreness and it definitely can help.ย

Just gotta continue to educate people one at a time and get them around on CBD.

Next big thing. Itโ€™s kind of already had that happen. And thereโ€™s going to be so much competition. Not for nothing but you work in the industry so of course you are biased and you should be to motivate yourself. The applications for the cannabis industry are vast but it seems like each day thereโ€™s a new cutting edge company popping up like herpes.ย

I agree that this is a growing business. This can be very helpful for many different medical conditions and it more of a natural choice as it does come from a plant. I think this is going to expand tons within the next 10 years.ย

Avoid the tourist traps, the best way is always ask the bartender for tips on where and when you should be.

I was just there! Some things to keep in mind. Talk to as many people as possible at the show. Basically if anybody was walking by the booth I'd look at their nametag and say "name, how's it going??" (if they act confused because you said their name, just say "oh I don't know you I just thought it made sense to connect") and then if they engage you ask them how familiar they are with your brand and take it from there.
