Thoughts on virtual sales room

For a SDR just coming into the space do you think a virtual sales room can increase productivity? Do you think future startups (most are remote only) sales teams would use it? I'm thinking about joining a startup that has does something along these lines. thoughts?

basically the equivalent of sitting on Zoom while you make calls to "feel included". which is bullshit, just a way for the manager to watch you like a creep.

So for me, this sounds terrible.

But if you can hear what others are saying on calls that could be helpful. Thatโ€™s the most helpful thing about an open floor plan as an SDR haha

Exactly why I didn't like an open floor plan - too freaking noisy. There's always that one guy with a foghorn voice who meerkats when he speaks so you all get the benefit of his calls.

Plenty of good comments already about the efficacy of a virtual sales room, so I would just say that looking at this from another dimension, if this is a standalone company specifically selling this as a standalone product, I'm not sure how successful it will be. There are loads of adjacent solutions already in the market that have either a good portion of a virtual sales room already or could easily add it to theirs, so I'm not sure what the unique differentiator is. I don't see any moat here for this business.
